The video demonstrates the obstacle avoidance of the Bremen Autonomous Wheelchair "Rolland". It is designed in a way that it only slightly intervenes into the driving commands given by the user, and that it includes the driving direction chosen by him into the judgement of the obstacle situation. Thus the wheelchair remains precisely manoeuvrable. The obstacle avoidance is also a big help while passing doors, as it is shown in the video about "turning round". |
