I've just managed to finish the new version, URL:

AS SOON AS POSSIBLE, and preferably well before the

  DEADLINE of 7 OCTOBER!  

TIME IS RUNNING OUT - we need to let the specialist task groups start
their work on the tentative language design within the next few weeks!

In contrast to the situation with previous versions, comments will
this time be forwarded without delay to the subscribers.

The new version incorporates most of the suggestions received - EXCEPT
concerning parametrized specifications, where Michel Bidiot will try
to answer the main questions during the next 14 days.

Please note in particular that the details concerning the proposed
treatment of subsorts seem to be getting a lot clearer now, thanks to
a recent concentrated effort by several people.

I'll be away from Aarhus until 7 October, but I hope to have adequate
Internet access the whole period.  (If that turns out not to be the
case, I'll get the mailing list changed to be unmoderated, until my
return.)
