Biography

Felix Goldau was a PhD Student of Prof. Udo Frese from 2019 until 2024, employed as a Researcher by the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence (DFKI). He has successfully defended his thesis Adaptive Degrees of Freedom for Shared Control of Assistive Robots on 2nd October 2024.

At DFKI, he worked on the projects AdaMeKoR: Ein adaptives Mehrkomponenten-Robotersystem für die Pflege (03.2020 - 09.2023) and DoF-Adaptiv: Adaptive Freiheitsgradeinbettung als kooperatives Userinterface für einen Assistenzroboter (02.2021 - 04.2024).

Prior to DFKI, he worked as a Research Associate at the University of Bremen and the Friedrich-Wilhelm-Bessel-Institut (FWBI) on the project MobILe: Physische Mensch-Roboter-Interaktion für ein selbstbestimmtes Leben (03.2019 - 06.2020), and for a brief time abroad as a Research Assistant at the Queensland University of Technology (QUT) Centre for Robotics: Medical & Healthcare.

With a focus on Automation and Robotics, he received his Masters Degree in Systems Engineering in 2019 from the University of Bremen, following a Bachelors Degree in the same programme.
