Automated Test Suites for Modern Aircraft Controllers
Author: Jan Peleska
Abstract:
Integrated Modular Avionics (IMA) is a unifying concept for
architecture, operating system API and configuration of aircraft
control systems. Controllers developed according to this concept
are tested in two phases: The test objective of phase one is to
establish compliance of hardware, operating system and configuration
for a specific purpose. In phase two, compliance of the application software
as integrated in the IMA controller is checked. In this article,
aspects of automated test suite generation for phase one are discussed.
Examples are derived from ongoing work of the author's research group
currently performed for Airbus Deutschland in the context of
hardware-in-the-loop tests for Airbus A380 aircraft controllers.
