This page covers new features and modifications in version 3.0,
compared to the previous release V2.1.
Socket Communication
The new graph editor application takes advantage of new features
in version 3.0. The editor can talk to the
API via
sockets,
so for example you can start uDraw(Graph) with option -server on
one computer and the graph editor with option -client
<hostname> on another computer afterwards.
Compact Dialogs
The dialogs of the graph editor have been re-designed to be more
compact and handy.
New features like
tooltips,
edge labels
or
color icons
can be used here.
User Interface Configuration
When connecting the graph editor to the API at start-up time
of uDraw(Graph) (e.g. using option -graphedit), the user interface
is
reconfigured.
To avoid confusion, it looks almost the same afterwards, except for
additional entries in the "View" and "Help" menu.
The additional "Edit" menu and icons are the same as in the previous
release.
Passing Filenames at Start
It is now possible to start uDraw(Graph) from command-line with
the graph editor and an initial graph which is passed to
the editor, e.g. "uDrawGraph(.exe) -graphedit my_graph_file.status"
