The European School on Graph Transformation, one of the major events of the GETGRATS Network, took place in Bremen, March 2-7, 1998. Quoting the Call for Participation, `the main goal of the School [was] to disseminate ``the basic knowledge'' about the area of graph grammars and graph transformation, and to present in a systematic way the state of the art and the recent advances in the theory and applications of graph transformation systems. The aim [was] to bring together students, young researchers and senior scientists interested in the area.'
